The new building for the Institute of Physics of Czech Academy of Science has been given to Bogle Architects as a result of their previous work on International Laser Research Centre ELI for the same client. The new building extends existing Institute’s pavilions in Prague. It has an underground floor with variety of laboratories for specialized experimental instruments and two overground floors including biolaboratory corner, an auditorium for 300 listeners, offices and classrooms. The design meets requirements of the Czech law on a nearly zero energy consumption building.
